Jordan Valley

A fertile land of approximately 400km, ranging from 200-400m below sea level. Its winters are moderate reaching to 10º, as for summers the temperatures reach to a high of 38º. Rainfall reaches less the 100-300mm annually. The Jordan Valley is considered the Jordanian food basket as for most agricultural produce is grown in it throughout the months of November – June.

The main varieties of Cut flowers produced in the Jordan Valley are: Gerbera, Sunflower, Matthiola, Chrysanthemum, Eustoma, Fressia, Statice, Calla Lily, and other type of bulbs.

 

Medium Altitude

To the north of Amman / the area of Al Baqa which is 300-600m above sea level is characterized with its cold winters reaching 4º and hot summers reaching 32º. Production in this area is all year long.

 

High Altitude

المناطق العالية

To the South of Amman the area of Um Alamad is 800-1000m above sea level. Production in this area is all year long for specific varieties.
